SPAWN/PORT PROTECTION UPDATE! 😀
- ever have an issue of lots of ships trying to enter the same port during peak hours?
- ever get sunk by a sub camping the the home stretch to port?
- ever get shot up before you can even leave port?
well ive installed a simple opt in function to freighters when your within a few sims of any port you can enable safemode. do note however your weapons will lock and not fire
safe mode will automatically disable when far enough away from port’s
thanks to all who have enjoyed this system and provided feedback!
This is something we’ve needed for some time. While I as a rule consider spawn ports as “Neutral Space” some people can’t seem to get the idea; they even complain mightily when an “Opponent” sinks their newly rezzed whatever while in port and before they even get the chance to use it.
Yet they’ll do the same thing themselves and think they’re being clever…
Historically, hostile warships avoided ports like the plague for the simple reason that their enemies had big nasty shore batteries and good rangefinders (or even radar!).
This just makes things a bit more realistic. Frequently incoming freighters were escorted into Port, and the movies aside, most hostiles waited a safe distance away.
This is a real improvement in things.
